Baumit is one of the largest manufacturers of building materials in Europe, the headquarters are in Wopfing / Lower Austria.

The Baumit Group tirelessly drives the ongoing modernization forward: Well thought-out investments in cutting-edge technology secure the market position on the Austrian market.

Baumit has found a strong partner in BERTHOLD for the automated processing of transport logistics. The Austrian high-tech company supplies future-oriented engineering and turnkey hardware and software.

Now that all of the delivery and dispatch logistics at the Wopfing, Wietersdorf and Peggau locations are running successfully with the BLS logistics control system from BERTHOLD, another important part of the company is now being integrated.

The location in Bad Ischl serves Baumit as a delivery plant for plaster / mortar loose in the silo, bagged goods (“dry products”) and bucket goods (“wet products”).

All products in all available containers should continue to be delivered error-free, efficient and, above all, flexible in this plant.

From the disposition, weighing, the delivery notes, the identification, the pallet and silo handling and the route planning, BLS guarantees the smooth handling of the logistics process.

Thanks to the perfect interface connection between BLS and Microsoft Dynamics AC, the commercial process from master data to invoicing can also be seamlessly and consistently handled.

Project in the start-up phase

In order to be able to implement the project quickly and in a target-oriented manner, employees from Baumit and BERTHOLD are currently working together on the creation of a detailed specification.

All required features and functionalities are precisely evaluated and result in a precisely defined scope of services and delivery including a realistic schedule.

A brief overview of the scope of the project:

  • 4 self-service terminals
  • 2 compact self-service terminals for wall mounting
  • 5 forklift terminals
  • Interface to the existing production system
  • 2 cameras
  • Full integration into the central logistics control system in Wopfing
  • All functions as in the headquarters in Wopfing

To put it simply, the self-service terminals enable transporters or logistics partners and products in all containers and quantities to be reliably identified in all relevant areas.

You can find a brief description of the use of forklift terminals in the BLS feature forklift coordination.

Real operation after installation, commissioning and extensive tests is planned for the beginning of 2022.

BERTHOLD is looking forward to another good cooperation with Baumit!
