ROHRDORFER commissioned BERTHOLD to modernize the production control technology of the mixing plant controls at 3 locations. The important building materials producer is thus intensifying its cooperation with the Austrian high-tech company BERTHOLD.
BERTHOLD already managed an important coup in spring 2021 with the timely handover of its BLS logistics control system at 8 ROHRDORFER locations: Despite all the adversities of the pandemic and with a sporting time window, the large-scale project was able to go into operation to the full satisfaction of the customer.
Encouraged by this positive experience, the decision-makers at ROHRDORFER once again brought the proven team on board for further modernization:

The preparatory work is already in full swing: With comprehensive engineering, precise detailed recording on site and a kick-off meeting of the project teams, optimal preparation for rapid project implementation takes place.
At all 3 locations in Gmunden, Rohrdorf and Neubeuern, the scales are being modernized and the control technology of the BERTHOLD mixing plants is being brought up to date.
BERTHOLD contributes the experience of successfully implemented projects in the ready-mixed mortar sector, which as references have contributed significantly to ROHRDORFER’s decision.
Consistent process optimization
The new controls of the mixing plants are seamlessly linked to the existing BLS logistics control system, which makes the individual production orders available automatically.
The new production system ensures that the individual components are networked with the aim of economic optimization and traceability.
The entire process chain is the focus of this modernization: starting with storage, all transport, dosing and weighing devices, the mixer itself, as well as batch and recipe management, are undergoing a complete control overhaul.
A corresponding visualization of the production for a comfortable and safe operation is also part of the order.
Major project challenge: bottlenecks in the market
The planned handover at the beginning of 2023 gives sufficient space for the project implementation. Nevertheless, one of the major challenges of this project will be to take into account the current delivery bottlenecks for individual control components.
BERTHOLD counters these uncertainties on the market with forward-looking planning and early orders. The close involvement of component suppliers has already proven itself in previous projects. BERTHOLD can also rely on the full support of its long-term partners in this project.
The BERTHOLD team is working feverishly to be able to implement this project on schedule.

By deciding in favor of the mixing plant control from BERTHOLD, ROHRDORFER can continue to rely on efficient and environmentally optimized plant technology with intensive quality monitoring in the area of dry mixing plants. A high level of reliability, the security of spare parts and support availability are again guaranteed for a long period of time.
