Nearly 30,000 development hours went into the trend-setting logistics control system BLS. Thus Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H has created an entirely new generation of logistics control system, which provides all its users with security and economy for the coming years, and sets new standards in terms of flexibility and usability.

“The fact, that we as the developers of BLS are confident of our own product as a trend-setting system, is not surprising for many people”, Rudolf Berthold, company founder and CTO of the Austrian high-tech company, openly admits.

“Due to the fact that today, almost a year after the product launch, already 90% of all users of Berthold logistics control systems are also convinced of BLS and have already perform an upgrade to BLS, confirms our conviction to have created an extremely powerful tool for shipping automation ” Rudolf Berthold carries on.

We were able to provide detailed information on some BLS upgrade projects. Further changes are already commissioned or in implementation – here’s a quick overview:

EWB –energy center Forsthaus

During the first installation in 2013, the hardware of the Swiss flagship project for waste treatment facilities ‘energy center Forsthaus’ in Bern was already prepared for the next generation of the new logistics control system BLS.

The software upgrade to the latest version of BLS was carried out in November 2015 and will go live in December 2015. EWB Bern benefits from the further increased user friendliness of the new web-based software structure.

EVN waste incineration plant Dürnrohr & waste collection Süßenbrunn

The change to BLS is currently in the planning phase, in which all details are being defined in cooperation with the customer by means of specification.

The VAS-II system, which has been working since 2003 to the full satisfaction of EVN, will be replaced by the new BLS, together with all individual additions and enhancements, which have been carried out over the years.

The existing hardware components are scanned by Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H with regard to BLS suitability, and will only be renewed or revised, if indispensable.

Finally, Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H attaches great importance to a cost-efficient approach for the customer with maximum reliability and full functionality with upgrades as well.
The implementation of the upgrades will occur within the 1st quarter 2016.

Wietersdorfer & Peggauer

Wietersdorfer & Peggauer once again put its confidence in us. We recently received the award for a change of VAS-II to the new BLS system.

We look forward to a particularly extensive project. Using the module “plant to plant”, the Logistics Control System BLS combines several production facilities: weighing and quality controls are grouped together on all the plants to increase efficiency and centralized evaluations or bills. All operations can be performed by designated BLS-users of one plant in any other plant involved.

Also in this project, all the hardware components are checked for reusability and are only replaced when this becomes necessary for functionality reasons, for reasons of reliability or the guaranteed spare parts availability.

The preparatory works for this project will start shortly, so that BLS will launch into full operation by the end of 2016 in all participating Wietersdorfer & Peggauer plants.
