VOEB conference
The organizers and guests were equally delighted: the annual event of the VOEB (Association of Austrian Waste Management Companies) 2021 was able to take place as planned on September 2nd and 3rd at Congress Schladming. BERTHOLD was there as a long-term sponsor and participant.
The Young VOEB event had its premiere on September 2, 2021, at which over 60 young members from the waste and resource management sector gathered.
After a brief introduction to the structure and topics of the association, the young industry representatives were able to face various team challenges and mastered them together with a lot of fun.
After a successful kick-off event with over 260 participants, Austrian and international experts in waste and resource management met at the annual conference on September 3, 2021. The focus was on the current challenges facing the industry in order to meet the requirements of the EU Green Deal.

After the massive increase in personnel in 2020, two more young technicians are now joining the BERTHOLD team:
Philip Braun and Simon Schlicker, will strengthen IT customer support and software development in the future; both also bring their first professional experience to their new positions.
After targeted training and a corresponding induction period, they will be part of our dedicated team to ensure that BERTHOLD can continue to push innovative developments quickly and that the high quality standard is maintained and expanded.
BERTHOLD is already consolidating its capacities for upcoming projects and the further optimization of customer support.

ISO audit according to ISO 9001: 2015
For BERTHOLD, quality means constantly striving for 100% customer satisfaction.
Important cornerstones for this are future-proof, flexible solutions, first-class engineering, the use of high-quality components and rapid customer support.
BERTHOLD safeguards this endeavor by means of certification according to ISO 9001: 2015.
After the annual audits in the two previous years, an extensive repeat audit will take place at the beginning of November 2021.
The preparatory work is currently underway, with the full involvement of the higher workforce.
The further development of the quality management system will be shaped by the focus on IT security and sustainability in 2021. The evaluation and reflection of these subject areas represent an excellent “vehicle” for future developments that ensure further dynamism and stability at BERTHOLD.
Internship at BERTHOLD
Dive into the world of work over the summer months – in the summer of 2021, BERTHOLD made it possible for three pupils to complete their training at a technical college.
Software development, technical customer support and IT – the three motivated young technicians were able to gain initial experience in these areas and received consistently positive feedback from the “old hands”.
In addition, the interns learned how a modern, powerful high-tech company is organized, how work processes are divided up and how efficient work will function in 2021.
Due to the pandemic, internship positions were rare this year, and far fewer companies than usual offered such positions over the summer months.
However, BERTHOLD sees this opportunity as a win-win situation: to bring young people closer to the job and at the same time get to know potential new employees at an early stage.
