The plant was erected in a common project by the Wiener Neustadt Waste Water Union and the EVN.

Environmentally friendly biogas

The biomethane produced by the AVW Wiener Neustadt is wet-desulphurised, which means that up to 20% of the entire amount can be used for personal use.
EVN processes the desulphurised biomethane to natural gas quality and feeds the high-quality gas into the network using a tailor-made 2.5 km long gas pipeline.

Integration into purification control system

The AWV Wr.Neustadt Süd ensures trouble-free operation of the biogas plant.
Wet-desulphurisation is carried out in a new preparation plant which is housed in containers. Integration into the control system was planned and implemented by Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H .
This comprised a restructuring of the current, proven control technology system.

Using an optical fibre interface, all relevant data can be transferred to the central control station. This enables secure management of the biogas plant directly by the purification plant operator as all information and control options are available.
In addition, Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H developed and implemented a number of gas warning devices in order to increase plant and personnel security.
