EVN continues to invest in modern infrastructures

Following excellent experiences with the Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H. VAS II logistics control system, EVN Wärme has now decided to upgrade to the recently-developed, web-based BLS holistic control system.

This upgrade guarantees EVN not only the most up-to-date technological status but also guarantees implementation of the most-innovative and sustainable solutions for unmanned operation of biomass thermal heating plants for many years.
In addition, the high degree of flexibility and configurability of the BLS system, as well as the previously-tested connection between the VAS II system to the EVN Wärme ERP solution (SAP), were also significant factors in this decision.

Thanks to the modular construction and the freely-configurable software processes, BLS system can be quickly and easily adapted to all existing plant configurations.

All existing data can be imported directly into the new system, with the result that the upgrade can take place without the heating plants experiencing any loss of operation.

The upgrade and all of the associated benefits will have an impact on all EVN Wärme GmbH heating plants, such as the automated biomass heating plants in Baden, Mödling and Tulln. E
ven smaller thermal heating plants, which do not have their own automated logistics control systems, will also be integrated into the BLS central data collection process.

Holding GRAZ (formerly AEVG): Berthold secures tender as best provider

An exciting application of the BLS logistics control system will soon start with operation in Graz: in the final quarter of 2014, Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H. secured the tender for the reconstruction of the Graz Holding delivery logistics system at its Sturzgasse collection centre in Graz.

An important factor in the decision were the numerous and successful reference projects undertaken by Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H. in the waste industry sector.

In addition, the high level of failure safety and short implementation time thanks to the modular design of the BLS were also significant factors in the decision-making process.
BLS will be delivered as a turnkey complete system, including server, self-service terminals, client and modular BLS software. For economic reasons, individual components such as weighing stations, identification, barriers and traffic lights will continue to be used and integrated into the system.

The collection centre receives both industrial and private waste. The core benefit of a logistics control system is the automated processing of industrial delivery companies.
As part of the project, private deliveries can also be automatically processed thanks to the freely-combinable BLS processes: the system also includes entry and exit processing, complete with weighing, number plate recognition, ticket system and automated accounting system.

Even the cash dispencer will be fully integrated into the logistics control system with the result that all business processes – both private and industrial – can be recorded using ONE system and ONE database. This is a task which, once again, proves the flexibility of the Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H. systems.

Holding Graz can count on an extremely failsafe, fully-developed system with the most up-to-date technology. The 10 year maintenance contract will guarantee long-term profitable operation.

Food industry: Reconstruction of mixing plant

As long-term partner to a company working in the food industry, Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H. has, once again, been able to develop and implement an efficient control solution to improve profitability and sustainability:

An existing mixing plant has been rebuilt and, as part of the construction work, the cleaning process has been completely redesigned with a view to achieve a reduction in cleaning materials used and minimisation of production rejects. The innovative technology used in this project also required the implementation of a new superordinate control system.

We assumed the task from competent engineering through to the economic implementation and, once more, were able to realise the project to the complete satisfaction of the customer.
Following delays in machine construction, we have now started with a number of optimisation steps to ensure that the plant can launch production without problems at operation so that the complete project can be handed over.

Increasing environmental compatibility and profitability in sustainable manner, as well as creating optimised processes, are all aspects which require appropriate control solutions, for which Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H. has again made use of its extensive competences and continuously maintained knowledge and experience.
