The managers at Wien Energie have always looked to the future and are placing great importance on the ongoing increase in safety, as two current projects prove.
As a long-term partner, Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H. not only acts as a know-how supplier but as a full-service provider from planning to successful commissioning:
Increased plant safety at the Flötzersteig plant
In order to increase plant safety in the Flötzersteig / Vienna waste incineration plant, the entire access situation was newly conceived and integrated into the overall concept of the logistics control system BLS.
The goal was an automated and comprehensive access recording, in order to be able to have reliable information on the number of persons in the factory at any time in the event of danger situations and to forward these to rescue workers.
The new design of the entrance and exit area included, in addition to structural changes, the delivery and integration of new barrier systems with induction loops as well as two new RFID identification devices from Tagmaster.
The integration into the BLS system was carried out by the dedicated technicians of Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H just as smoothly as the PLC programming and integration into the existing visualization system.
With the integration of the new access control into the alarm system, the project was completed and put into operation to the full satisfaction of Wien Energie.
With this solution, Wien Energie is committed to the highest level of operational safety taking full consideration of the individual plant situation.
Expansion of the central IT
In increasing security, Wien Energie also relies on the best possible solutions in the hardware. This is also the case with the central IT system of the logistics control system BLS, which connects the individual waste incineration plants as a central system with the "plant-to-plant" module.
Thanks to Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H’s planned expansion of the existing EDP system with increased memory, a new switch and the use of additional servers, important capacities were created for safe operation.
