Since 2008, the association has put its trust in Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H as their partner for control technology and visualisation – with excellent success.

Upgrades to the visualisation of the purification plant control system
Until recently, the existing ETM PVSS II purification plant control technology was used for visualisation. Now, the association for sewage treatment has commissioned Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H with the task of upgrading the system to the “most up-to-date technology”.
- Upgrade from PVSS II Vers. 3.1. to Siemens WinCC OA 3.10
The object-oriented SCADA-System Simatic WinCC Open Architecture with its open-concept design enables the integration of numerous different components.
The migration from WinCC in accordance with customer requirements, as well as extensive tests, were all undertaken directly by Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H, where the system was also equipped with further improvements:
The Berthold technicians also integrated an in-house-designed iPhone e-mail alarm module that informs the sewage plant operator on duty of the most-important system statuses via smartphone and delivers all relevant data.
In the case of an alarm, an e-mail is generated using a specialist app. The sewage plant operator then has the possibility to override the PVSS application via remote access using the smartphone.
In this way, the customer has been provided with a well-engineered, fully-tested system – start-up was possible within the shortest-possible time thanks to the implementation of an executable virtual machine.
In order to stay up to date in the future, the association for sewage treatment has concluded a maintenance contract with Rudolf Berthold Ges.m.b.H which includes the best-possible support, including updates to the respective most-current software versions.
